Relapse

Will
Just an update. I have tapered from 60 mg. in almost 2 years to 12 mg. prednisone per day and relapsed. I had a MRI Tuesday and it showed new lesions. Now in the pons. Cerebellum still clear which was where my initial lesions were. Neurologist wants me to increase to 15 mg. and we'll see.

I have a question. I'm also taking CellCept as an adjunct to the prednisone. I have tolerated this great but wonder now about its effectiveness. What complementary drug have you be prescribed along with prednisone or in place of prednisone?

Re: Relapse

Hi Will,

I’m having a lot of trouble tapering off prednisone, too.  It’s been almost 2 years and I can only get down to 30mg every other day.  Currently, I’m not taking CellCept or another drug like it.  I’m heading back to the Mayo next week.  I haven’t been feeling well but I haven’t had a relapse.  I’ll let you know if the doc prescribes anything.

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble,
terry

Re: Relapse

I was feeling worse back on the 5th. Now that I am back taking 15mg per day I feel much better but the lesion in my pons is worrisome. Glad to hear all is well with your MRI. I notice that my symptoms ebb and flow in severity for seeming no reason. I am thankful for the health that I do have, such that it is.
